Pre-conferences are independently organized meetings that offer an in-depth focus on key topics. The AIDS 2026 pre-conferences will take place on Sunday, 26 July 2026.
Pre-conference packages
Organizers are responsible for the full coordination of their pre-conference and can select from two flexible packages:
Package A
Room capacity: Over 550 people*
- Select a half-day or full-day pre-conference:
- Half-day: One 60-minute sessions and two 90-minute sessions
- Full-day: Two 60-minute sessions and four 90-minute sessions
- Pre-conferences will take place in a session room with a capacity of over 550 people*. The room includes standard conference set up (chairs, stage and podium), audio-visual equipment and technicians.
Package B
Room capacity: Up to 550 people*
- Select a half-day or full-day pre-conference:
- Half-day: One 60-minute sessions and two 90-minute sessions
- Full-day: Two 60-minute sessions and four 90-minute sessions
- Pre-conferences will take place in a session room with a capacity of up to 550 people*. The room includes standard conference set up (chairs, stage and podium), audio-visual equipment and technicians.
*Room capacities are based on current planning and may be adjusted in line with final conference requirements.
AI-powered interpretation and captioning for delegates are included. Delegates will need to use their own device to access this service. More information will be provided closer to the conference.
All pre-conferences will be in a hybrid format, that is, a combination of pre-recorded and/or live presentations, with speakers presenting live in person and/or virtually or with a pre-recorded presentation.
The pre-conference sessions will be streamed live to virtual delegates at the scheduled time.

Pre-conference fees
Different fees apply to different organizations:
- Non-commercial organizations:
- Category 1. This includes academia, non-profit organizations (international), people living with HIV networks, non-governmental organizations (community based or national) and advocacy networks.
- Category 2. This includes government representatives, UN agencies and philanthropic organizations.

Payment conditions
All prices are in USD. The IAS is a not-for-profit organization registered in Switzerland with no establishment in Brazil. The amount indicated on the payment order must be paid in full, free of any deductions for withholding taxes or bank charges. The IAS must receive the exact amount stated. The payer is solely responsible for any taxes or charges imposed by their jurisdiction on this payment order. The IAS shall bear no cost or responsibility for any local taxes related to pre-conferences.

When will pre-conferences take place?
The AIDS 2026 pre-conferences will take place on Sunday, 26 July 2026.
Who can host a pre-conference at AIDS 2026?
To host a pre-conference at AIDS 2026, non-commercial organizations must meet the following criteria:
- The organization reflects and/or supports the vision and goals of the conference.
- The organization addresses HIV and AIDS, co-infections or issues faced by individuals or organizations affected by or responding to the HIV and AIDS pandemic.
- The organization reflects the conference policies and goals of diversity and inclusion.
The IAS reserves the right to review pre-conference content and reject any application if it perceives that the organization is not in line with the values and objectives of AIDS 2026.
How can I host a pre-conference?
To apply to host a pre-conference, an organization must submit a letter of interest to preconferences@aids2026.org. The letter must include:
- A brief description of the topic for its event
- The preferred pre-conference package
How are pre-conferences scheduled?
The scheduling of pre-conferences is at the discretion of the AIDS 2026 Pre-conferences team.
Do pre-conference speakers need to be registered?
Speaker(s) will need to be registered. They can either register for the full conference or buy a pre-conference pass.

What is included in session rooms?
Session rooms are equipped with standard conference equipment, including chairs, stage and podium, and standard audio-visual equipment. We will share further details closer to the conference.
