What JIAS does

The Journal of the International AIDS Society (JIAS) is a highly rated, peer-reviewed, open-access scientific journal.

It disseminates latest evidence from a wide range of scientific disciplines, from basic and biomedical sciences to social sciences and humanities. JIAS prioritizes operational research and implementation science to provide valuable information on monitoring and supporting comprehensive and sustainable treatment, prevention and care programmes in diverse contexts. By doing so, it promotes the uptake of evidence-based best practices and research in the real world.

JIAS in context

The most HIV-affected regions of the world still account for the minority of HIV research. For example, 65% of all people living with HIV live in central, eastern, southern and western Africa, but the contribution of global HIV research from the African continent was just over 30% in 2020.

This journal is excellent – more real-world and applied than many other HIV journals.

JIAS in action

By encouraging submissions from low- and middle-income countries, JIAS amplifies voices and experiences from these regions in HIV research. Prioritizing operational research and implementation science aligns with the journal’s goal of informing effective strategies for HIV treatment, prevention and care programmes globally.

It is indexed in PubMed and Medline, ensuring wide visibility and accessibility of published research.
