Continuous scientific innovation

We sustain research and innovation to address critical gaps in HIV science.

In addition to its conferences, the IAS fills critical scientific knowledge gaps through eight programmes. These programmes identify research gaps, build scientific capacity, facilitate collaboration across disciplines and regions, and take emerging evidence to all stakeholders.

Towards an HIV Cure, the HIV Vaccine Research Network and the Collaborative Initiative for Paediatric HIV Education and Research (CIPHER) convene experts and community representatives to set research priorities, develop innovative methodologies and bolster investment in HIV science. They deliver targeted training for researchers in low-resource settings, building research capacity in HIV vaccines, cure and paediatric HIV.

Differentiated Service Delivery and Person-Centred Care strengthen continuous scientific innovation through their research collaboratives that bring together researchers, implementers and communities to shape research agendas informed by real-world needs.

The open-access, peer-reviewed and multidisciplinary Journal of the International AIDS Society (JIAS) publishes high-impact research across the HIV field. The award-winning interactive IAS+ provides free educational resources and virtual events to scientists, policy makers and community activists worldwide.

The IAS promotes the use of non-stigmatizing, people-first language. The translations are all automated in the interest of making our content as widely accessible as possible. Regretfully, they may not always adhere to the people-first language of the original version.
