Special assistance desk

If you are a delegate with specific accessibility needs and wish to bring your own assistant with you (such as a sign language interpreter for examplet), please contact specialassistance@aids2026.org

AIDS 2026 will provide personal assistance (upon request and approval of required documentation).

If you have a question about assistance for people with disabilities on site, please go to the special assistance desk, located in the registration area, during the official registration opening hours.

Wheelchairs (upon request)

Delegates will be able to borrow manual wheelchairs at the special assistance desk. Please send requests in advance to specialassistance@aids2026.org. The use of the wheelchair is free. The wheelchair can be used only inside the venue.

If you are bringing your own wheelchair and plan to use the conference transfers, please contact specialassistance@aids2026.org

Interpretation & real-time captioning

Language interpretation will be available for all sessions. To access interpretation, please have your phone and headphones ready. Simply scan the QR code provided at the entrance of each session room, select your preferred language, and click “Join”. You will then have the option of reading captions or listening to audio. As headphones will not be provided, we kindly ask that you bring your own to avoid disrupting others during sessions. Your cooperation ensures a pleasant experience for all conference participants.

The IAS promotes the use of non-stigmatizing, people-first language. Our interpretation software uses artificial intelligence and is highly accurate. Nevertheless, occasional translation errors may occur. We provide automated captioning and translation services to make our content as widely accessible as possible. Although efforts have been made to train this technology, it may not always respect the people-first language of the original version.

Stage ramps

The IAS has arranged that stages have ramps to ensure accessibility for speakers with mobility needs.

Service animals

Only registered and certified service animals are permitted at the conference venue. If you plan to attend with a service animal, please contact specialassistance@aids2026.org in advance.

Questions

If you have any accessibility-related questions, please contact specialassistance@aids2026.org.

The IAS promotes the use of non-stigmatizing, people-first language. The translations are all automated in the interest of making our content as widely accessible as possible. Regretfully, they may not always adhere to the people-first language of the original version.
