AIDS 2026 Community Project Grants
Submissions closed on 19 September 2025, and the five grant recipients have been selected!
Turn HIV science into community action
IAS – the International AIDS Society – invites community organizations to apply for the AIDS 2026 Community Project Grants. These grants support projects that transform scientific evidence into practical, community-led HIV interventions.
Selected projects will be implemented between September 2025 and June 2026 and showcased at the Global Village at AIDS 2026, the 26th International AIDS Conference, in Brazil.
Grant focus areas
Projects should address at least one of the following priorities:
- Expanding HIV prevention access
- Expanding availability and access to harm reduction services
- Reducing HIV-related stigma
- Integrating mental health into HIV services
- Responding to gender-based violence

Asociación Un Nuevo Camino (ASUNCAMI)

ASUNCAMI is a community-based organization in Bolivia, led by people living with HIV, trans women, cis women, LGBT people and community peer educators. With more than 15 years of grassroots experience, ASUNCAMI implements prevention, stigma reduction and human rights advocacy in three of the largest cities of Bolivia: Santa Cruz, Cochabamba and La Paz.
Centro de Orientación e Investigación Integral (COIN)

COIN is a community-led civil society organization based in the Dominican Republic, founded in 1988 in response to the HIV epidemic and structural inequalities. COIN is led by and works with key and marginalized populations. The organization provides integrated health and support services through a community clinic and has been a pioneer in mobile clinics and fixed community service points to ensure access for key populations. Its interventions are informed by assessments of participatory needs and clinical research and are consistently grounded in evidence-based public health strategies.

Epicentro is a community centre that offers health services and community activities for gay men and trans women in Lima and is open to all other communities. Epicentro was founded in 2008, and its main mission is the prevention and treatment of HIV and STIs. It does so through the creation of a physical space where users can find cultural and social activities, receive information and counselling on prevention and treatment of HIV and other STIs, and receive medical care, including diagnosis, treatment and laboratory tests, for HIV, syphilis, hepatitis, HPV, gonorrhoea and more.

Agencia Presentes is an independent regional news outlet that specializes in gender and sexual diversity. It covers current events in Latin America with correspondents and from two offices: Buenos Aires and Mexico City. It is comprised of journalists, activists, communicators and artists. The agency seeks to bring socially relevant issues that are underrepresented in traditional media to the agenda. It does so from a human rights perspective, with quality journalism and innovative formats.
