Jay Mulucha is a Ugandan trans man. He is the founder and Executive Director of Fem Alliance Uganda, which brings together LGBTQ people in Uganda to advocate for respect and protection of their rights. Jay is a founding member and Board Chairperson of Trans Network Uganda. He sits on the boards of Global Action for Transgender Equality (GATE), East Africa Trans Health & Advocacy Network and Trans Survivors Network and on the Trans Men and HIV working group. He is a Country representative for Community Rights and Gender. Jay is the AHEA Award winner for the Best Transgender Activist and Human Rights Activist of the year (2021-2022 and 2022-2023) and was honoured as a Hall of Fame Activist and Human Rights Defender (2021-2022). He is an alumni of the Young African Leaders Initiative (Mandela Washington Fellowship, 2017) at Bowling Green State University. Jay holds a certificate in leadership skills and is a computer science graduate from Kampala International University. He also manages a queer basketball team in Uganda.
