What to expect at the AIDS 2026 Global Village
A blend of speaker sessions and cultural activities, the Global Village is a hub for live performances, building networks, and browsing marketplace booths and art exhibits. We curate the programme from public applications from individuals, groups and organizations working across the response to HIV.
The AIDS 2026 Global Village features over 200 activities – and here is a taste of what to expect.
Sessions:
Call for action on chemsex, HIV and human rights in Latin America
Pleasure principle: Sex work, content creation, and fostering wellness and sexual satisfaction
United in action: Caribbean communities leading HIV response
Art exhibits and marketplace booths:
Through Positive Eyes: Rio Revisited – a participatory art exhibition and live storytelling experience led by Brazilian “artivists” living with HIV
Doses of Life: Each dose is a seed. Each seed, a future – 10 photographs created through a participatory process with people recently diagnosed with HIV
Persons with Disabilities AIDS Group – a marketplace booth from Uganda showing that “disability does not mean inability”
Community bazaar by people living with HIV in Pakistan – a marketplace booth for sex workers and people living with HIV
Networking zones and the Youth Pavilion:
The Youth Pavilion – a space for young people to lead discussions, present their work and engage with peers and mentors
Mental Health Networking Zone – translating evidence on the links between mental health, HIV and TB into practical and community-driven action
Indigenous Peoples Networking Zone – a space to mobilize, share ancestral knowledge and influence the global HIV response
Strengthening HIV services for key populations and people living with disabilities by addressing stigma and inequity
MPact’s Queer Zone – a safe, affirming and celebratory space for the queer community to gather

Brazilian, Latin American and Caribbean LGBTI+ network responses to HIV – an NGO booth presenting three networks and their HIV-related activities in the region
