What inspires you to work in the HIV field?

Witnessing the positive impact of a well-implemented medical research programme on reducing vertical HIV transmissions inspires me to work in the HIV field. It is evident that reduction of vertical transmissions of HIV is feasible in Kenya, as well as central, eastern, southern and western Africa and globally.

What are your goals as an IAS change maker?

As an IAS change maker, my goals are to drive impactful HIV research, implement evidence-based interventions, collaborate with global partners to improve health outcomes, reduce the disease burden, and mentor early-career HIV researchers.

The IAS promotes the use of non-stigmatizing, people-first language. The translations are all automated in the interest of making our content as widely accessible as possible. Regretfully, they may not always adhere to the people-first language of the original version.
