Associate Director for Therapeutics, Office of Infectious Disease, US Food and Drug Administration agency
Yodit Belew is the Associate Director for Therapeutics in the Division of Antiviral, Office of Infectious Disease at the Center for Drug Evaluation and Review, US Food and Drug Administration agency. She joined the agency in 2007 as a medical officer in 2007. Yodit has additional regulatory experiences in the Division of Pediatric and Maternal Health and the Office of New Drugs Policy. As an Associate Director, she provides leadership to the scientific and clinical review teams involved in the complex task of regulating and evaluating new drugs and biological products. She supports regulatory science research activities in the Division of Antiviral and helps build and maintain relationships with stakeholders to advance the mission and goals of the division.
Yodit graduated from Cornell University Medical College. She completed her residency in paediatrics at the Mount Sinai Hospital in New York and fellowship in paediatric infectious diseases at the Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, D.C. She is board certified in both paediatrics and paediatric infectious diseases.
