Paul Schaper leads global policy efforts at Merck in Global Pharmaceuticals, which includes a broad range of therapeutic areas, from diabetes to cardiovascular disease, neuroscience and infectious disease, including COVID-19, HIV, antibiotics/antifungals and viral hepatitis.
From May 2013 to May 2021, he represented the Private Sector Constituency on the Board of the Global Fund for HIV, Tuberculosis and Malaria. Since May 2019, he has served as the Chair of the Donor Group of constituencies on the Board of the Global Fund.
He earned his BA and Master’s degrees in public health policy and business administration from Emory University and a Master’s degree in clinical psychology from Georgia State University.
