IAS – the International AIDS Society – is convening an IAS Educational Fund symposium, titled “Science, policy and community: The next priorities for a sustainable HIV response in Malawi”, in Lilongwe on 19 October. The meeting is organized in collaboration with the Malawi Ministry of Health and Sanitation and the National AIDS Commission and in partnership with Partners in Hope.

Speakers and participants in the symposium will discuss:

  • Key messages from AIDS 2026, the 26th International AIDS Conference
  • The current HIV response in Malawi
  • Closing the gap in addressing paediatric HIV virologic failure
  • Strategies for scalable and accessible HIV prevention
  • The next steps for sustainable integration of HIV and broader healthcare services
