Mary Ann Torres is the Executive Director of the International Council of AIDS Service Organizations (ICASO), a global network dedicated to advancing the rights, health and well-being of communities affected by AIDS. With over two decades of experience in advocacy, public health and human rights, Mary Ann has been a leading voice in amplifying the concerns and rights of key affected communities in international health policies. Under her leadership, ICASO has deepened its focus on addressing health inequities, combating stigma and ensuring universal access to treatment and prevention. Mary Ann collaborates with governments, civil society organizations and global health institutions to champion sustainable, community-led solutions to AIDS and related challenges. Mary Ann is a lawyer and former Professor of Law at Universidad Católica Andrés Bello in Caracas, Venezuela. She holds a Master’s in international law and health from Indiana University and a Master’s in gender, women’s rights and health from the University of Toronto.
