What inspires you to work in the HIV field?

My inspiration is destigmatizing HIV as a manageable, chronic condition and devising integrated, person-centred models of care that view the individual as living within a socio-political and intersectional environment requiring multi-sectoral engagement beyond disease.

What are your goals as an IAS change maker?

My goals are:

1. Leveraging my experience, networks and the skills I will gain to mobilize HIV research in Namibia

2. Empowering young people and young researchers in my setting to pursue HIV research

3. Using the platform as a networking and collaborating opportunity for future work

The IAS promotes the use of non-stigmatizing, people-first language. The translations are all automated in the interest of making our content as widely accessible as possible. Regretfully, they may not always adhere to the people-first language of the original version.
