What inspires you to work in the HIV field?

I have loved science since I was a child, particularly genetics, immunology and virology. I am also fuelled by a passion for social justice. Working in HIV is a way that I can channel these facets to create meaningful change, both locally and around the globe.

What are your goals as an IAS change maker?

I want to use the power of genetic sequencing to answer key questions about HIV that can help bring about better viral surveillance or even cure. I'm also passionate about improving the usability of genetic sequencing as a tool for change.

The IAS promotes the use of non-stigmatizing, people-first language. The translations are all automated in the interest of making our content as widely accessible as possible. Regretfully, they may not always adhere to the people-first language of the original version.
