What inspires you to work in the HIV field?
HIV remains a public health problem and, in my country, the management of HIV is very decentralized. This approach, although effective, has gradually led to a decrease in the involvement of certain practitioners at the central level for this condition. When I recently joined the team of healthcare workers at the central level (Universal Hospital Center) in this field, I realized that this is a dynamic field with innovative therapeutic perspectives for patients in recent years and challenges in longitudinal follow up. Therefore, getting involved in this field is a way of participating in the better management of these people. And every day, I love this field of paediatrics more and more.
What are your goals as an IAS change maker?
As an IAS change maker, I am committed to: encouraging and inspiring young colleagues to take an interest in paediatric HIV; participating in paediatric HIV research (clinical trial, cohort study) to help address some of the current issues, especially in the management of children with HIV; and continuing to educate myself on different aspects of paediatric HIV care to meet the needs of our patients and local team.
