What inspires you to work in the HIV field?

The ongoing need for more effective prevention strategies, treatment options and support for people living with HIV cannot be ignored. The work is not just about addressing the virus, but about addressing inequities, stigma and discrimination that fuel the epidemic, especially in marginalized communities.

What are your goals as an IAS change maker?

My goals are to advocate for the adoption and scaling up of innovative HIV prevention and treatment strategies, including pre-exposure prophylaxis, long-acting injectable therapies and HIV vaccines.

The IAS promotes the use of non-stigmatizing, people-first language. The translations are all automated in the interest of making our content as widely accessible as possible. Regretfully, they may not always adhere to the people-first language of the original version.
