What inspires you to work in the HIV field?

As a pharmacist, I was deeply moved by the opportunity to provide direct care to people affected by HIV during my internship. Witnessing firsthand the challenges they face, I felt compelled to do more. Driven by compassion, I joined "Team Binta” to increase access to crucial prevention options, like PrEP and PEP, through community pharmacies and digital health. I also contribute my skills as a pharmacist at the Faith Alive Foundation, where comprehensive HIV treatment is provided to people living with HIV.

Leading awareness campaigns and workshops, I strive to destigmatize HIV and empower individuals with knowledge. Collaborating with local organizations, I develop holistic support systems to ensure that those living with HIV can thrive. It is my life's passion to create a world where no one has to suffer with the burden of this disease.

What are your goals as an IAS change maker?

As an IAS change maker, my goals are to leverage my expertise and platform to drive meaningful progress in the HIV response. I aim to spearhead initiatives that expand access to critical prevention tools, like PrEP and PEP, while championing stigma-reduction campaigns to empower and support affected people. Through collaborative efforts and grassroots mobilization, I strive to create lasting, systemic change that improves health outcomes and quality of life for all.
