What inspires you to work in the HIV field?
I am motivated to work in this field to help key populations vulnerable to or living with HIV. Many individuals in key populations, such as men who have sex with men, sex workers and people who inject drugs, experience societal stigma, which can hinder access to healthcare and support services. Some also experience other barriers, such as financial constraints, lack of transportation and inadequate healthcare facilities, which can limit access to HIV testing, treatment and preventive measures. My long-term goal is to improve the lives of those affected by HIV in Vietnam.
What are your goals as an IAS change maker?
I am committed to reducing the HIV burden among the most vulnerable populations in Vietnam through active involvement with HIV research in the past decade. Over the next decade, I aspire to design and implement novel evidence-based interventions to respond to HIV among key populations, especially young men who have sex with men.
