What inspires you to work in the HIV field?
I have always wanted to make an impact on health issues, which is what motivated my decision to study medicine. What inspires me to work in the HIV field is the opportunity to have a tangible impact on people’s lives, especially adolescents and children, by promoting prevention, improving access to care and reducing stigma. I am motivated by the resilience and courage of people living with HIV. I believe that through education, advocacy and research, we are moving closer to ending the epidemic.
What are your goals as an IAS change maker?
After attending the conference, I am even more motivated as an IAS change maker to amplify the voices of young people in the HIV response. Through our local initiatives, I will further promote innovative and inclusive solutions for prevention and care, and strengthen community engagement, particularly among adolescents and young people. I aim to create platforms for knowledge sharing and foster collaborations between the different organizations involved, while contributing to research and advocacy efforts aimed at reducing inequalities and combating stigma.
