What inspires you to work in the HIV field?

I am a dedicated public health officer committed to creating a healthy, well-informed community with access to essential public health resources. My ultimate goal is to empower individuals with the knowledge and tools they need to lead healthier lives. Having relatives who live with HIV, as well as having lost loved ones to HIV, I have witnessed firsthand the profound impact HIV can have on families and communities. Additionally, as a youth advocate, I am deeply concerned by the rising number of new HIV acquisitions among young people aged 15-24. This alarming trend motivates me every day to work in this field.

The combination of personal experiences and the urgent need for improved public health solutions inspires me to reach and support as many individuals as possible through my advocacy work. I am passionate about raising awareness, promoting preventive measures and facilitating access to care for vulnerable populations.

What are your goals as an IAS change maker?

My goal is to continually learn, explore and experience new ideas and practices from diverse places and platforms, and then bring those positive changes back to my community. I am passionate about advancing my skills in advocacy work to effectively support and uplift as many people as possible. By gaining more advanced knowledge and insights, I aim to enhance my ability to drive meaningful change and empower individuals within my community.
