Key information

Asia and the Pacific Islands is the region that will host HIVR4P 2026.

Ongoing HIV prevention research taking place in the destination country is a condition to host the conference.

A detailed bid proposal and budget are required only from shortlisted cities. The IAS will not consider detailed bid proposals at this stage.

The submission deadline for letters of intent is 14 June 2024.
Timeline of the bidding process
STEP 1: Letters of intent (LoI) to host the conference
- 22 April 2024
Invitation to submit letters of intent - 14 June
Deadline for submission of letters of intent - End of July 2024
The IAS Conference Committee will consider the applications and propose a shortlist of 3-4 destinations to the IAS Executive Board.
STEP 2: Detailed proposals by shortlisted candidate cities
- 15 August 2024
The IAS will send a detailed request for proposal to each shortlisted candidate with a deadline for submission of bids. - 15 November 2024
Deadline for submission of bids - Q1 of 2025
Detailed technical analysis of bids
Site visits
The IAS Conference Committee will review and analyse the bids. - Q1 of 2025
The IAS Executive Board will confirm the successful host city.
