Conference accessibility
Special assistance desk
For questions related to assistance on site, people with disabilities should go to the registration desk, located in the registration area during the official registration opening hours.
Personal assistance (upon request and approval of required documentation)
Delegates with specific accessibility needs who wish to bring their own assistant with them (such as a sign language interpreter or other assistant) should contact accessibility2024@hivr4p.org.
Wheelchairs (upon request)
Delegates who wish to borrow manual wheelchairs during the conference must send their requests in advance to accessibility2024@hivr4p.org. The use of the wheelchair is free. The wheelchairs can be used only inside the venue.
Real-time captioning (CART)
Artificial intelligence (AI) services will be utilized for English captioning throughout the conference. English captioning will be available for the opening and closing ceremonies, plenary sessions, special sessions, rapporteur session, and symposia. Pre-conference sessions or satellite symposia may also offer interpretation and English captioning.
To access English captioning, please have your phone ready. Simply scan the QR code provided in each session room and click “join”. You will then have the option to read captions. While our AI interpretation is highly accurate, occasional captioning errors may occur.
The IAS promotes the use of non-stigmatizing, people-first language. We provide the automated captioning services to make our content as widely accessible as possible. Although effort has been taken to train this technology, it may not always respect the people-first language of the original version.
Stage ramps (upon request)
The IAS has arranged a stage ramp for the conference. Speakers who have a particular need for a stage ramp should contact accessibility2024@hivr4p.org by 29 August.
