What is your motivation for engaging in HIV cure and remission research?
I currently work as the Country Implementation Manager for the UNITAID Point of Care Early Infant Diagnosis in Cameroon. This project aims at using the innovative molecular diagnostic point of care approach to increase access to EID in a timely manner as well as improving linkage to antiretroviral treatment for infants diagnosed with HIV. I would like through this fellowship to build new capacities in designing operational research, monitor and evaluate their implementation and cost effectiveness, as well as presenting results in technical journal and lobal conferences.
What is your current area of research?
My current area of research include the following:
- Comparative cost-effectiveness of the Point of Care approach versus the conventional lab testing for early infant diagnosis.
- Assessment of the residual transmission rate for PMTCT in four regions of Cameroon
- Perspectives of the implementation of the introduction of the point of care approach to early infant diagnosis in Cameroon.
