50th Union World Conference on Lung Health

Are you attending the 50th Union World Conference on Lung Health in Hyderabad, India? Are you looking for practical solutions to improve the quality of TB/HIV services in your programme?

If so, register now for the WS-20-C8 TB/HIV Integration and Quality of care pre-conference Workshop on 30 October 2019 taking place at the conference.

The International AIDS Society (IAS) is organizing the three-hour workshop in collaboration with Doctors Without Borders (MSF), The Baylor College of Medicine International Paediatric AIDS Initiative (BIPAI) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

This hands-on workshop is designed for programme managers, clinicians and civil society members that aim to scale up and enhance access to integrated services for TB/HIV. It will be focused on using data to identify programmatic weaknesses and inform decision making in the context of paediatric TB/HIV care, drug-resistant TB/HIV co-infection and scale up of TB preventive therapy in HIV programmes. The participants will also discuss applying differentiated service delivery methodologies to HIV-associated TB.

Practical learning exercises will aim to:

  • • Equip participants with skills to perform a critical analysis of integrated TB/HIV cascades at programme level and identify weak points that need tailored interventions
  • • Apply differentiated service delivery decision frameworks and negotiate interventions to increase the quality of care and reach targets at programme level
  • • Open dialogues for multidisciplinary approaches to TB/HIV programming, especially in scaling up TB preventive therapy or increasing access to TB diagnosis in high HIV prevalence settings.

The learning methods will include short oral presentations and interactive activities for group work, culminating in joint feedback and a plenary discussion.
