Who are the Youth Champions?
We want to improve people’s understanding of key populations and change the lives of young key populations for the better.
What motivated you personally to get involved in the HIV response?
We became advocates for key populations because we know the risks faced by young men who have sex with men and the pain of being alone in a place where you are judged because of a lifestyle beyond your control. With our project, we hope to contribute to a safer and healthier future for young MSM. We are activists because we want to change the lives of other young people. We have learned, we have conquered, and now we want to share our experiences with others.
What is the topic of your project?
To improve in-clinic prevention services, we hold youth dialogues with different groups of young men who have sex with men in and around Johannesburg.
