We are delighted to welcome Carlo Oliveras to the International AIDS Society (IAS) as the new Programme Coordinator for the Adolescent HIV Treatment Coalition (ATC) hosted by CIPHER. The ATC collaborates with networks of people living with HIV, HIV treatment organizations, youth organizations – including young people living with HIV – researchers, clinicians and global health agencies to fill urgent gaps in addressing the treatment and care needs of adolescents living with HIV. Previously, Carlo served as the advocacy coordinator for the International Treatment Preparedness Coalition (ITPC) Latin America and the Caribbean, and was coordinating an Out of Pocket Community based research programme in the Dominican Republic. With a background in psychology and evaluation research, Carlo has worked to support young people living with HIV at the community, national and international level. He has extensive experience in supporting initiatives addressing the health needs of key populations in Puerto Rico and through the Americas. Carlo will be invaluable in moving forward the key priorities of work being done by the ATC in adolescent HIV services. Please join us in welcoming Carlo Oliveras to IAS.
