BioMed Central is the world’s largest online open access publisher. Research published in BioMed Central’s ~190 journals, all of which are indexed in PubMed and archived in PubMed Central, is freely accessible for anyone with an internet connection, without any need for registration or other encumbrances. For BioMed Central’s independent journals, of which JIAS is one, the Editorial Board administers peer review and takes responsibility for content-related matters while the publisher provides all necessary technical support, from an advanced online submission system via article production (in PDF and HTML) to liaising with a broad range of indexing and technical services (e.g. CrossRef, Google Scholar).
