Abstract
Implementation of policy against the deceptive treatment being administered to people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA´s) by unothordox medical practioners (traditional, herbal healers etc) in Nigeria

Issues: There has been numerious medical resarch going on presently in the world in other to find drug which could cure HIV/AIDS and vaccine which could hamper the transmission of this deadly scourge,rspectively.The dreadful nature of this disease has made Unothordox medical practitioners to be taking undue advantage of PLWHA´s who are ignorant of how to live positively in the society, not minding their Sero-statues.As a result of this,PLWHA´s are usually exploited by these medical quacks who claims that they have dicovered drugs which can cure HIV/AIDS.The nefarious atitude of these Medical Quacks has posed more danger to the life of PLWHA´s than the the Virus itself.
Description: In my country Nigeria,a good number of People Living With HIV/AIDS has fallen victim to the deceptive and harmful treatment of some Unothordox medical practioner.Their subjects after being treated with their self acclaimed HIV/AIDS healing drugs became more vunrable to Opporturnistic infection as a result of the accelerated decline in their immune system which is caused by the concotion given to them.From the PLWHA´s Experience Sharing which is part of the organisation´s efforts to help members to learn from eachothers exprience. Ninty percent(90%)of those PLWHA´s who has petronized those medical Quacks has shown rapid decline in their CD4 counts.
Lessons learned: Through government policies,the right of People Living With HIV/AIDS(PLWHA)should be protected and they will not be used as experimental materials.
Recommendations: Through this paper,the registration of all unorthordox Medical Practioner who claimed to have dicovered drugs that can cure HIV/AIDS should be made mandatory in the Federal Ministry of Health.By so doing,any therapy/drugs discoverd by this unorthordox doctors, should pass through strict National and International pharmerciticule test before being administered to PLWHA´s.To this effect, the Federal Government of Nigeria through the National Legislature,would enect a policy that will be guiding the activities of these Unothordox medical practioners in our country.
