Abstract
The Serum And Urinary Trypsin Inhibitors Level Correlate With Progression Of HIV Infection
Papuashvili M.1
Introduction: It is known that HIV-infection is accompanied by essential changes in specific and non-specific type of organism protection system. It has been found that inhibitors of serine proteases, trypsin inter-a-inhibitor (ITI) and urinary trypsin inhibitor (UTI) are undergoing considerable changes as they are a part of general protection mechanism. The aim of the present research work was to study the presence of ITI in serum and UTI in urine among the HIV-infected patients at the different stages of disease (according to CDC classification). Methods: UTI and ITI determination by domestic test-systems was performed. 93 HIV-infected patients and 20 healthy donors participated in this study. Results: The presence of ITI in serum of blood among healthy donors was 256,24±32,311 mkg/ml and UTI concentration – 5,01±1,169 mkg/ml. The HIV patients with A1-A3 stages from the first group (n=23) demonstrated the low level of UTI in urine (1,57±0,208 mkg/ml) against a background of ITI high level in blood serum (374,65±21,871 mkg/ml). The second group (n=42) with B2-B3 stages testified the increased UTI presence in urine (24,48±4,103 mkg/ml) and stable high ITI level in blood serum (365,33±10,918 mkg/ml). Against a background of strong decreasing ITI concentration in blood serum (98,71±7,744 mkg/ml) the highest UTI level in urine (45,55±8,041 mkg/ml) was found in the third group (n=28) with terminal C1-C3 stages. Conclusions: Inhibitors of serine proteases might belong to a system of sufficiently active endogenous suppressors of HIV-1. As soon as HIV-infection is proceeding to AIDS, the decompensation of non-specific protection system of inflammatory reactions provoke the biochemical disorders which are turned into inflammatory disaster of organism in general.
