Sexual Behaviour Study of Unmarried Youth

Introduction Youth in general constitutes the most vulnerable segment of population Hence, the proposed study was conducted with the objectives :
Study Objectives To determine the sexual behaviour among unmarried youth

Study subject The study subject were mainly unmarried youth of both sex Having the sample size 150 in numbers
Findings The occurance of STIs among the study subjects indicate that out of total youths studied 37.50% were infected with STIs. The education group wise distribution of diseases indicates that the occurance of STIs are a little bit high among under matric groups and college goers.
Type of STIs are found to be reported that Gonorrhoea and Syphilis are more prevalent among the male youths where as white discharge is found to be reported among the female youth.
The Knowledge on transmission of STIs varies a lot among male female distribution. In the male group only 13.13% were having adequate knowledge on its transmission whereas incase of females it was only 50%.
Male female distribution of multiple sex is found to be reported that 13.13% in the male group were engaged in multiple sex whereas incase of females 50% were adopted multiple sex behaviour. The frequency of multiple sex was only reported that at the time of Festivals and Yatras.
 The disease surveilance, social behavioural surveilance and demographic studies are of inescapable necessity. Even though female sex worker may be difficult to reach and to survey.
 Advocacy and counselling to especially unmarried youth are of extreme importance as a result the youth could be motivated to adopt safer sex if any. Capacity development of health providers and demand creator in the community will act as an instrument to fight STIs.
